Ahmedabad Dholera Six Lane Expressway Project
The Ahmedabad Dholera six lane expressway project, better known as the Central Spine for Dholera SIR forms a part of the master plan that had been submitted and approved by the central government to enhance the connectivity of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Dholera SIR in particular.
The 183 kilometers long road shall pass through a substantial part of Gujarat through the cities of Ahmedabad, Vataman, Pipli, Dholera and Bhavnagar and shall connect Ahmedabad to Dholera and Bhavnagar ports.To begin with, the access controlled project shall be built as a four lane expressway constructed in the six lane expressway format.
The project falls under the purview of Ministry of Roads & Building Dept. Govt. of Gujarat with Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board as the nodal agency and Gujarat State Road Development Corporation Limited as the execution agency. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 900.39 crores with an Economy IRR @ 31.60%, Project IRR @ 12% and Equity IRR @ 12.32%.
The region along the expressway, especially DSIR is expected to see a boost in economic activity soon and the project is being developed considering the advantage such cluster shall reap from such excellent linkage.
